**Company Overview**

At Hivebotics, our mission is to help workers attain the best productivity and quality of life by automating dirty, demeaning and dangerous tasks. We are currently developing autonomous toilet cleaning robots with the aim to be the market leader in developing mobile manipulator based service robots.

**Job Overview**

As an Autonomous Navigation Engineer at our startup, you will play a vital role in developing navigation algorithms and systems for our robot to navigate seamlessly within public toilets, through indoor spaces, and across floors using lifts in locations such as shopping malls, airports, offices, and hospitals. Your expertise will be pivotal to ensuring our robot operates efficiently and safely in diverse environments, elevating hygiene standards and transforming the cleaning industry.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art autonomous navigation algorithms and systems for our toilet cleaning robot, enabling it to navigate seamlessly within public restrooms and through various public indoor spaces.
- Design and optimize navigation strategies to efficiently move between different toilet locations within large public buildings, taking into account factors such as crowd density, obstacles, and time efficiency.
- Create robust localization techniques to ensure the robot accurately identifies its position within the mapped environment, even in dynamic and challenging conditions.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and calibrate sensors, cameras, and other navigation-related components to enhance the robot's perception and mapping capabilities.
- Conduct extensive testing and simulations to validate the performance and reliability of the navigation algorithms, and iterate on improvements as necessary.
- Address real-world challenges related to operating in diverse environments, including dealing with varying floor surfaces, elevators, escalators, and different lighting conditions.
- Work closely with the software development team to implement navigation solutions within the robot's overall software architecture.
- Continuously monitor and assess the robot's navigation performance in the field, gathering feedback to optimize and fine-tune the system for enhanced efficiency and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in autonomous navigation, robotics, and AI technologies, incorporating relevant research and techniques into the development process.
- Participate in team meetings, project planning, and provide valuable input to enhance the overall capabilities and functionality of the toilet cleaning robot.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- Proven experience in developing autonomous navigation algorithms and systems for robotic platforms, preferably in indoor environments.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, and similar, and experience with robotics frameworks and simulation tools (e.g., ROS, Gazebo).
- Familiarity with popular SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) techniques and their implementations.
- Solid understanding of various sensors used in robotics, including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and their integration into navigation systems.
- Knowledge of path planning and motion control algorithms, with a focus on real-time, safe, and efficient navigation.
- Experience in working with mobile robotic platforms, and an understanding of the challenges related to indoor navigation, such as dynamic environments and human-robot interaction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative startup environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for robotics, automation, and a drive to create impactful solutions that positively impact people's lives.

Join our team and be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking startup that is determined to make public restrooms cleaner and more hygienic through cutting-edge robotics technology. If you have a passion for autonomous navigation and robotics and want to shape the future of cleaning automation, we'd love to hear from you
