**What the role is**
- The Challenge The operating environment of the Public Service is undergoing fundamental and rapid change. The issues we face are complex and multi-faceted, which impact the way the Public Service operates and organises itself. Internally, the changes in workforce profile has necessitated a new approach in how the workplace is designed, while the pervasiveness of technology has fundamentally changed the way we conduct our business. To prepare the Public Service for these changes, we need to transform the Public Service workplace into one that is lean, agile and digital. We also need to build a productive, collaborative and joyful workplace culture to meet the needs and aspirations of public officers. We are looking to redesign the workplace experience and create a stimulating and empowering work environment that supports officers’ growth, development and wellbeing. In short, we want to make coming to work a delightful experience.
**What you will be working on**
- Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will be responsible for improving the workplace experience of public officers, together with partners across the Whole-of-Government (WOG). You will need to conduct user research and user journey mapping, as well as lead pilots on new workplace initiatives to help public sector organisations make work more productive, collaborative, and flexible.
