**UCT** is looking for a talented **Principal Engineer** to join us in **Singapore **As a member of Global Operations Engineering department, Principal Engineer have expertise in one or more critical process areas on Semiconductor equipment assembly or weldments with experience in performing DOE, process modeling, system design and DFM. Operations Engineering will also be responsible to research and identify new and existing technologies that can impact current and future business activities. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable build and quality standards. Provide leadership to multiple site Manufacturing Engineering leaders in strategizing world class manufacturing methods and leveraging best known methods to achieve global standardization.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to guide Manufacturing Engineers in creating Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
- Design new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
- Ensure all product and system requirements are considered from the initial product conception to the finished result as per Customer specification.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout
- Remove waste from the processes.
- Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities.
- Carry out FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), process documentation and implement improvements.
- Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Able to lead worldwide Mfg. Engineering leaders given the set of objectives to be met on yearly basis to govern the MFG Eng council.
- Requires contact with Customers, vendor’s representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.
- Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in effort to streamline build processes and procedures.
- Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Investigates customer or internal issues, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.
- Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Proven knowledge and experience in High mix/low volume Semicon OEM equipment/sub system welding, assembly and testing.
- Demonstrated skills in implementing Continuous Improvement Initiatives, Lean Manufacturing and other quality and process improvement tools.
- Proactive self-starter who can lead with a strong ability to drive changes and continuous improvement.
- Customer oriented both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven experience in engaging/leading cross functional team.
- Demonstrates high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity.
- Ability to effectively train people inside and outside their work group.
- Develops and applies advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
- Exercises independent initiative/judgement in setting and implementing goals.

**Educational/Certification Requirement**:

- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

**Experience Requirement**:
***Work Experience**:

- 7 to 10+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment with at least 5 years in Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Engineering

***Management Experience**:

- 3 to 5+ years in management or in a Project/Team leadership role
