- about 2 hours agoWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Low Voltage Design Engineer to join a global Datacentre Operator as a key contributor to its data centre projects. As a Data Centre Electrical Low Voltage Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of low voltage electrical systems in our data centres. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our data centre infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design and Develop Low Voltage Electrical Systems: Collaborate with the project team to design and develop low voltage electrical systems for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Electrical System Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of electrical systems, including load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
- Equipment Selection and Specification: Evaluate and select appropriate electrical equipment, components, and materials for low voltage systems, considering factors such as reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed technical drawings, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts, using industry-standard software and tools.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, including architects, project managers, and electrical contractors, to ensure effective coordination and implementation of electrical designs.
- Code Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry codes, regulations, and best practices related to low voltage electrical systems and ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
- Project Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, equipment schedules, and test plans, to support the construction, commissioning, and maintenance phases of data centre projects.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases, troubleshoot electrical issues, and propose effective solutions to ensure timely project completion.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and energy efficiency enhancements within electrical system designs and recommend appropriate measures.

**Key Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in the design and engineering of low voltage electrical systems, preferably within data centre or mission-critical facility projects.
- In-depth knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, and lightning protection.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP) for creating technical drawings and performing electrical system analysis.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP) and familiarity with modeling and simulation tools.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer license) and memberships in relevant industry organizations are desirable.
