CMG’s digital division, BandLab Technologies, designs and develops tools and services for music creators. The division consists of BandLab, the flagship social music creation platform that hosts a user base of over 50 million creators globally, as well as legendary digital audio workstation Cakewalk, and artist services platform ReverbNation.
Vista Musical Instruments, CMG’s manufacturing and retail division, includes the musical instrument brands MONO, Harmony, Heritage Guitars, Teisco, and Asia’s largest omni-channel, multi-brand retailer, Swee Lee.
**About the role**
**Responsibilities**
- Lead a brand, audience or creative strategy from ideation to execution - ensuring consistency amongst cross-functional teams and the successful completion of objectives
- Establish and continually refine brand guidelines, metrics, and standards
- Develop brand architecture, positioning and strategy and define brand elements and tone
- Partner with cross-functional teams to establish and articulate our brand strategy, and ensure that all products, services, and communications consistently reflect that strategy
- Develop creative briefs that guide the development of brand-building activities
- Lead and participate in workshops, brainstorms, and meetings
- Conduct primary and secondary research and turn data, research, and observations into rich insights and strategies
- Cultivate consumer, cultural, and competitive insights to inform brand, creative and audience strategies
- Develop trusted, relied-upon relationships with cross-functional teams and effectively partner with them in the strategy development process
**Requirements**:
- At least 6 years of professional experience as a brand strategist working at an agency or in-house, demonstrated by a portfolio of case studies
- Ability to simplify complex information, solve business problems with creativity, and understand consumers and culture on a deep level
- Writing and presentation skills that are grounded in a clear point of view
- Ability to own and lead projects with autonomy
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Willingness to work across multiple time zones
- A passion for music is a must, and music knowledge is a PLUS
