ABOUT THE ROLE
Since the launch of Audible.in in November 2018, India has been among the fastest growing marketplaces within Audible. Audible India offers a) Premium Plus membership, b) in front of paywall free-tier catalogue and c) ala-a-carte audiobook/podcasts. With the objective of audience expansion, Audible is seeking a Business Development professional to develop strategic partnerships that accelerate Audible user growth and engagement. As the business development lead for India marketplace, you will own the partnership charter and collaborate with companies across multiple sectors (telecom, smartphone OEM, banks/fintech, transportation, loyalty etc.) to make it easier for customers to discover and enjoy Audible products.

You are driven by creating high-impact collaborations with partners and have the skills to share the story of your company, present value in partnerships and influence key stakeholders to close deals. You enjoy the high energy and fast-paced environment of working with internal and external stakeholders, have an analytical mindset to identify key opportunities, have proficiency in relationship management and a strong will to deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
As the Senior Business Development Manager you will...
- Drive the structuring, negotiation, and management of a broad range of strategic growth and distribution partnerships
- Lead partnership development, including: business case, deliverables, product requirements, financial modelling, negotiation, contract execution and operational activities
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions and with partners to manage the process - including partner development, contract deliverables, roadmaps, data analytics, performance tracking and reporting
- Coordinate with other Amazon teams to leverage established relationships for business development deals for Audible
- Report on plans and results to senior management, and coordinate closely with various internal stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- Track record of successfully developing and growing new business initiatives
- Experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships or equivalent
- Knowledge about India’s telecom, banking/fintech, loyalty, digital services landscape
- Experience working with senior management both internally and externally
- Self-starter attitude and ability to build rapport and trust across business functions
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA with work experience after Master’s degree
- Consumer industry (Telco, OTT, fintech, digital service) business development experience
- Master’s degree; specialization in Marketing, Sales or Business disciplines
