**Job Overview**

Mabanaft is committed to advancing low and zero-carbon fuels, playing a key role in the energy transition. Our initiatives include biofuels, LPG, ammonia, power-to-liquids, and participation in carbon markets.

In Asia, we have established strong trading positions in LPG and biofuels and are actively exploring ammonia as an energy fuel, alongside opportunities in carbon markets, including offsets and credits.

We are seeking a Carbon Trader / Originator to execute and manage carbon trading strategies, build relationships with key stakeholders, and seize market opportunities within the region. This role involves trading carbon credits and allowances, analysing market trends, originating new opportunities, and ensuring compliance with regional regulations and standards.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Identify new business opportunities and grow our presence in Asia’s carbon markets, including emerging regions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporations, financial institutions, and government bodies, providing tailored carbon solutions.
- Source and develop carbon projects such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation, managing them from assessment to execution.
- Analyse market trends and execute carbon trades across platforms like the Asia-Pacific Carbon Market.
- Optimize trading positions and strategies to enhance profitability while staying aligned with market development
- Develop and implement trading strategies to stay ahead in a dynamic market.
- Stay updated on local and international carbon regulations and ensure full compliance in all activities.
- Manage risk exposure through sound decision-making and effective risk management practices.

**Qualifications**

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field.

**Experience**
- Up to 5 years of experience in carbon markets, trading, or related fields, with a particular focus on Asia.
- Proven track record in market origination and project development is highly desirable.

**Skills / Competencies**
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a deep understanding of carbon markets and trading strategies.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
