**JOB SUMMARY**

The incumbent has the overall responsibility to oversee legal and compliance matters for our group companies located in Asia & Oceania region. We have a separate legal team in Sojitz Corporation, our head company in Tokyo. This role is also responsible to communicate and co-work with them regarding group-wide arrangements related to legal and compliance.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1) Legal
- To draft and review contracts including sales/purchase agreement, service agreement, warehousing agreement, non-disclosure agreement, memorandum of understanding, governed by various laws in Asian & Oceanian countries including Japan and Singapore.
- To handle disputes related to contracts, debt collection, labor cases, in the forum of lawsuit and arbitration in various countries in the Region.
- To engage and co-work with external law firms.
- To handle company secretariat matters in our group companies in the Region.
- To conduct legal trainings for legal and non-legal colleagues in the Region.

2) Compliance
- To implement necessary internal policies and guidelines, including the ones to be compliant with the local regulations in various countries in the Region and all over the world.
- To investigate compliance incidents including violations of laws and internal policies, harassments inside the offices etc.
- To check and monitor the risks related to corruption inside the Region.
- To conduct compliance trainings for colleagues in the Region.

**JOB SPECIFICATION**
- Minimum 10 years of experience as in-house or practicing lawyer.
- Skill to review contracts in Japanese language is required.
- Experience to work on transactions/projects in various countries is preferable.
- Minimum Degree holder with legal knowledge.
- Qualification as a lawyer is preferable.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or equivalent is required as documentation and reporting will be in Japanese for Japan HQ to evaluate
