**Company Overview** "Nippon Life Global Investors Singapore Limited" initiated its operation since April 2013, when Nissay Asset Management Corporation participated in the JV, previously named "Nissay Schroders Asset Management Asia Limited", and became the majority shareholder through an intra-group deal and the JV was renamed 'Nippon Life Global Investors Singapore Limited'. The Nippon Life Group has been managing Asian equities in Singapore since 2001. The unique joint venture structure has allowed the company to quickly set up its operations, utilizing the partner's infrastructure and support functions such as IT and finance, and enhance its capabilities while cultivating its own investment culture, staff, process and decisions. As of 30 September 2021, we manage USD 3.7 billion on behalf of institutional investors, invested in equities. With the addition of the group's asset management arm, Nissay Asset Management Corporation, in the JV partnership in April 2013, the JV now aspires to expand its services beyond the group and further deepen its roots in Singapore. **Job Summary** The Risk Officer is responsible for the development and maintenance of the risk management framework, risk policies and procedures, risk management tools and systems to assess, evaluate and monitor risks (including investment risk) faced by the Company. The officer conducts independent risk analysis, oversees and reports significant risks and assist/advice the business in conducting relevant risk assessments. This role is to provide and undertake risk management oversight identified within the business and will report to the Chief Operating Officer. **Key Responsibilities** - Analysing material sources of risks, providing forward looking risks expertise to business and senior management - Identify material sources of risk in new projects and ensure appropriate mitigation of risks and appropriate risk assessments are performed - Oversight of the risk management framework and ensuring adherence of the components within - Involvement in the New Product and New Client risk assessment process, review and challenge the assessment results and mitigation proposed/undertaken where appropriate - Represent Risk in attending various Committee meetings - Carry out risk based deep dive reviews based on requests from senior management - Develop and maintain risk policies and procedures - Escalate material issues rapidly to the Chief Operating Officer - Provide BCP oversight to ensure the BCM program is embedded successfully - Manage risks associated with Outsourcing - Conduct Trading Surveillance and Investment Guidelines Monitoring - Conduct Broker Evaluation **Essential Skills** - A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Asset Management industry, with a focus on the risk function - Thorough knowledge of risk management techniques - Bloomberg AIM coding skills or Charles River / Aladdin coding skills - An ability to engage effectively with people of different seniority - Excellent communication and presentation skills - An ability to understand what the key issues are and to investigate / resolve / escalate them as appropriate - Self-motivated and proactive, can work independently as well as work cohesively with other stakeholders - Ability to think strategically and handle time pressure - Graduate level education in an appropriate discipline **We recognize potential, whoever you are** Our purpose is to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management.
