Principal Architect

Circles.Life is not your average digital telco provider. Since our launch, we have revolutionized the telco industry by seamlessly integrating both telco and digital lifestyle services on our Circles-X platform. Over the past years, we have captured more than 5% market share in Singapore, launched in Australia and Taiwan while attaining record breaking CSAT and NPS (+50). We are now in the midst of embarking on the next stage of our journey by developing a highly configurable, extensible, global digital telco operating system on the foundation of our learnings from our Circles X platform.

As part of our hyper growth journey, Circles.Life is looking to onboard a Chief Architect who will spearhead the platform architecture in our quest to build out a world class SaaS telco operating system. In this capacity, you will provide the leadership, mentorship and guidance to diverse engineering teams and inculcate world class architectural best practices and processes to deliver a robust, scalable, reliable, fault tolerant platform. In addition, this role will play a key role in providing trusted advice/consultation, technical direction to the senior management and other business stakeholders.

**As a key member of our team, your responsibilities include**:

- Layout the platform architecture vision and strategy to build out the Circles-X Operating System (CXOS) to be a truly SaaS telco operating system.
- Derive the short, medium and long term platform architectural roadmap with a robust/scalable architecture which provides the foundation in a truly extensible manner to successfully navigate our SaaS journey.
- Continuous monitoring of the architectural vision, strategy, roadmap, KPIs/OKRs and reporting the RAG status to the senior management at suitable intervals
- Provide architectural leadership and guidance, review and establish architectural principles to engineering and all stakeholders.
- Produce validated comprehensive architectural documentation and make them readily available to engineering teams.
- Ensure the architectural roadmap is fully aligned with the delivery plans
- Making sure that the architectural designs are viable both technically and commercially
- Be responsible for resolving architectural limitations/issues with zero/mínimal impact to the deliveries
- Proactively identify R&D needs to be competitive in the market and drive the execution of the same
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to bring out the best solution viable both technically and commercially
- Proactively identify deployment, performance and security issues by closely collaborating with DevOps/InfoSec/Perf and Scale teams
- Bring in industry best practices such as architectural auditing, quality gates, etc into the organization and come up with implementation plans.
- Evaluation and approval of any 3rd party software needs by assessing various aspects such as stability, performance, cost, licensing, etc
- Ability to be hands on and drive into the weeds on at least one of the following technology stacks and frameworks - Spring Boot-Java, Go Lang

**Requirements**:

- In depth experience with a proven track record in the capacity of a Principal/Senior Software Architect.
- Degree/Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
- Telco domain experience and knowledge will be an added advantage
- Complete understanding and experience of Microservices based architecture design patterns and strategies Monolith to Microservices: Evolutionary Patterns
- Domain Driven Design principles, Strategic and Tactical Software architecture patterns and anti patterns
- Evolutionary architecture
- Strategies to handle exponential scale
- Cloud based development and deployment
- Cloud native engineering principals
- SDLC activities (Analysis /Design/Development/Deploy)
- Source Control Systems ( GIT/SVN)
- CI /CD Pipelines
- Delivery methodologies - Scrum/Feature driven development, XP
- Databases (RDBMS/NOSQL)
- Data engineering
- Strong people management skills and leadership skills, evangelist and communication skills
- Experience in collaboration with different stakeholders like vendors, product managers, developers
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Experience in hyper growth startups would be an advantage
