Sports Director

As **Sports Director **you have the combined role of sports coach and the responsibility to oversee and develop all operations of the Sports programmes offered by the Club and its partners. This includes the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of sports programmes and activities; providing leadership to and supervision of staff. You are part of the Management Team (MT) of the Hollandse Club and report to the General Manager (GM). In the absence of the GM, you report to the Main Committee, and you may be called to cover for the GM in their absence. This role will work in close alignment with the Membership Experience Director on member offering and the Commercial Affairs Director on member recruitment & sponsorships. As an active member of the MT, you will be sharing and driving the Club’s culture, vision, and values across the department and throughout the Club and work closely together with the other MT members towards common goals.

**Sports Management & Development**

Oversee and manage the planning and delivery of all sports activities at the Club.

Ensure there are engaging sport activities which maximize the use of all sports facilities and appeal to the different segments of the membership.

Create alignment of the sports offering and higher cross fertilization by developing integrated sports programmes for high performance players.

Develop and oversee the execution of professional sports clinics with local and overseas athletes, and multi-sport holiday camps.

Develop sports offerings beyond the premises of the Club and target specific groups of sports players beyond the existing members with the aim to increase the membership base.

Support the Club’s committees, as applicable.

**Coaching**

Create and develop a holistic training program for sports lessons with the goal of developing high performance players.

Commit to 20 hours per week to conduct lessons for high performance players with a dedicated attitude towards their improvement.

Ensure the Club has a broad pool of coaches available for the different sports on offer.

**Partnership Development**

Develop and maintain positive partnerships relevant for the Club across other clubs and relevant organisations and associations. Work with the Commercial Affairs Director to recruit and build relationships with existing and new sponsors across the HC sports base.

**Facility & Equipment Usage**

Monitor and manage the use of the sports facilities and equipment. Address concerns, and make recommendations for improvement, as required, to enhance the membership experience.

**Sports Administration**

Oversee and manage the booking system and administration of the Sports to ensure a professional, efficient, and high standard of customer service. Make recommendations as required to automate processes for improvement.

**Sports Finance Management**

Develop, analyze, track, and meet budgets for the Sports. Report any deviations in numbers with recommendations for remedial action as required.

**People Management & Development**

Enable competency development and capability building for the Sports Team and the individual employees within the team. Set objectives for team members and perform the monitoring of these.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications in sport management or related field or experience equivalent
- Certified coach with at least 8 years of experience coaching high performance players
- Proven track record of successful developing and managing sports programs
- International mindset and experience
- Strong leadership, people management skills and a sense of humour.
- Excellent command of English and Dutch, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, written and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.
- IT literate - up to date knowledge of booking systems and procedures.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications a plus
- Must be willing to work during evenings, weekends, and Public Holidays.
