**What this job involves**:
Strategic Responsibilities
As part of the SEA senior leadership team, this role focuses on executing the legal strategy to enable the high growth expectations of doubling the revenue of the business

The role is mandated to enhance key processes to drive efficiencies and maximize business impact.

Examine, refine, and revamp corporate policies, procedures, compliance, and training programs to fit the future of real estate.

Lead and drive one of our Regional Centers of Excellence (Litigation, Compliance, M&A, Legal Operations, Data Privacy, Corporate Governance, and Employment) to coordinate with Global Legal Centers.

Transactions Support
Regarded as a key business partner, the GC will lead strategy on significant M&A and commercial transactions and help develop and launch new real estate products into SEA.

Leads the digital transformation of the legal function to improve people, processes, and tech to streamline the workload in the region.

Creates and implements best practices from legal teams in real estate and other industries (e.g., templates, delegations of authority, policies, negotiation guidance, e-signing, corporate governance for sales teams).

Supervisory and Managerial
Mentor, manage, and inspire a team of seven lawyers and legal professionals focused on driving the business objectives of supporting the commercial growth and management of risk in South East Asia.

Responsible for the performance and professional development of all lawyers and legal professionals in the SEA legal function and for creating sustainable succession plans.

Reports into General Counsel, APAC, and represents SEA on the APAC Legal leadership team to ensure ONE Legal initiative, consistency of deals, and pooling of efforts and resources.

Manages budget and headcount, contractors and outside counsel spend, and T&E to ensure the cost-efficient delivery of legal support.

10+ years of legal experience with a major law firm and/or relevant in-house experience, with a demonstrated focus on commercial transactions or litigation in SEA or APAC.

Ability to understand and explain the real estate industry and its future growth areas.

Outstanding academic credentials and excellent written and oral communications skills.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration.

Ability to exercise strong judgment in consulting with colleagues and clients.

Proven leadership abilities and experience managing diverse, high-functioning teams.

Law Degree required - preferably admitted to Singapore Bar.

Sense of humor and don’t take themselves too seriously
