The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

A Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Oliver Mueller-Cajar, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The project will focus on expanding the carbon fixation machinery of microalgae to enhance photosynthesis and biomass production.

Key Responsibilities:
The Research Fellow will take ownership of agreed upon scientific problems and fully dedicate his or her efforts towards these goals. They will devise and carry out appropriate experiments, analyse and interpret data and ultimately communicate the findings by publication in journals and attendance at scientific conferences.- Read and interpret the relevant scientific literature- Design and carry out experiments- Draft manuscripts- Supervise and train new group members (e.g. undergraduate researchers)

Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in algal genetics/synthetic biology or related field- Familiarity with microalgal culture- Good written and oral communication skills- Proficiency molecular biology and biochemistryHiring Institution: NTU
