As a leading science and technology company, one of our primary focus areas is harnessing the power of our data intelligence and analytics to best serve our customers. To secure our competitive advantage in this critical area, a Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) was setup in 2019 within our Life Science division to drive data analytics strategy and execution. The Head of Operational Excellence will build up an extension of ACE which is providing Data & Analytics use case product delivery, data democratization for key data assets and Self-Serve enablement in the Asia-Pacific region.

**Your role**:
This role is the unique blend of strategic execution, operational excellence and team leadership. Strategic execution and Operational Excellence are required to seamlessly integrating the new team and APAC stakeholders into the ACE Operating model including their teams working on the creation of value generating Life Science use case and data products, ranging from Life Science’s business teams, ACE Product Owners and Data Stewards, IT, Sector Data Offices and external partners. Team leadership is required since this role is hiring, onboarding and leading new team members in the Asia-Pacific region while aligning on and developing new strategic priorities with regional Business stakeholders and the rest of the ACE organization.

Since ACE is following agile practices, it is key to improve and facilitate the team’s Scrum based delivery framework.

In the role you act as a thought leader and help ACE in creating more business value at Life Science businesses with a focus on the APAC, local specifics and regional data & analytics needs. This individual will work with the Data Products & Solutions and with the Connected Company team to educating other teams in the organization on data governance - data quality, compliance, security and privacy. In addition, the role will collaborate with the Use Case Delivery and with the Data Science team for planning and executing the development and industrializing of use case products. Lastly, as part of the ACE Leadership team you will create and share strategic recommendations to the rest of the Leadership team, their senior management and LS Executives.

**Who you are**:

- Master degree with a good coverage of Business Administration and Computer Science
- 5+ years working experience in Project Management with a strong focus on Agile Methodologies such as Scrum
- 3.5+ years working experience in Project Portfolio management
- 2+ years team leadership experience
- Experience in managing budgets and financials and business value monitoring from use cases preferred
- Strong mathematics background and experience with big data, machine learning, statistics, data analytics and informatics preferred.
- Certified in Project Management (PMP preferred)
- Certified in implementing and scaling agile practices (ACP, SAFe) and ability to work with global, highly-matrixed agile product teams
- Strong customer orientation and communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with technical & non-technical audience
- Proven track of enabling a successful project delivery in complex data environments with a passion for facilitating continuous improvement in teams
- A thought leader who doesn’t hesitate to take over responsibility when it is helping the team
- Experienced in supporting procurement activities, in managing vendors and in processing contracts
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through influence
- Good understanding of requirements in the area of Data Security, Data Privacy, Workers Council and GxP, to be able to educate stakeholders in the organization about data governance aspects
- Has preferably worked in the industry of Pharma, Life Science or Chemicals Industry before
