Assistant Manager/manager, Interpretation

You will work closely with the ACM’s Senior Manager (Editorial - Interpretation and Education), as well as curators and educators on text editing and the administration of museum publications. The work will include a wide range of texts, including museum catalogues, gallery texts, guides, education, and publicity brochures, as well as website, social media, and marketing texts.
You will liaise with authors and contractors (designers, translators, printers), manage image rights, and procure services from book designers, printers, and other contractors. You will also act as proof-reader and assist in refining, formatting, and copyediting texts.
**Responsibilities**
Plan publication project schedules:
- Collaborate and communicate with Exhibition Project Managers, Curatorial, Designers, Education, and other stakeholders to plan, develop schedules, procure external designers and printers when necessary, and maintain editorial standards and deadlines for book projects, consulting regularly with the Senior Manager (Interpretation - Editorial & Education) and Deputy Director (Curatorial and Research).
- Manage project schedules with stakeholders (content development, submission, design, and printing) of publication projects:
- Liaise with authors, monitor manuscript submissions; consolidate and standardise basic catalogue information and bibliography according to ACM house style; ensure consistency in captions, notes, and references; research images and obtain rights when necessary; arrange for new photography when required.
Editing and writing:
**Requirements**:
- Background in Art History, English, or History preferred.
- Preferably minimum 3 years of editing experience, preferably with museums, especially writing/organising for exhibitions, managing/editing publications, and helping to create gallery interpretation and education materials.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
- Ability to create, follow, and maintain editorial schedules.
