The Digital Readiness Office in NLB steers public education programmes and initiatives from the library, to prepare Singaporeans to be future-ready in a Smart Nation. The Maker Education team develops services to encourage citizens to create with technology, across evolving areas in digital fabrication and content creation.

We are looking for someone with a creative mind and an interest in emerging innovation to join us in developing strategies and services to inspire engagement and tinkering in technologies to problem solve and turn ideas into reality.

[What you will be working on]
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the team in the conceptualization, development and actualisation of programmes, showcases and content that will inspire and motivate the general public, from young teens to seniors, to tinker and create with technology.
- Research the evolving landscape around fabricative tech, such as 3D printing, and media authoring, including Gen AI, to analyse how shifts, trends and shake-ups will inform the direction and strategy for NLB’s services in these areas of education.
- Lead the team in running multiple makerspaces and related facilities for public use within NLB’s venues, looking at ways to spark curiosity and inspire everyone from the savvy to the inexperienced to engage with the facilities.
- Identify and develop strategies for deeper engagements with communities, both existing and potential, to be part of the NLB makerspaces for their ideas and projects.
- Proactively grow the network of partnerships from the Singapore ecosystem to collaborate with us on projects and initiatives.
- Actively engage with stakeholders from inside and outside Whole of Government, to raise awareness of the impact and meaningfulness of our work, and influence buy-in for new opportunities and collaborative participation.

[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in education strategy, curriculum development, and/or project management and leadership.
- Experience in research and conceptualisation of strategies.
- Experience in leading small teams to productively allocate resources for the most optimal outcomes.
- Experience in efficient tracking of project status and planning tactical next steps.
- Management of multiple stakeholders in projects. Work in Government sectors is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills in English. Additional mother tongue languages will be a plus.
- Familiarity and interest in digital making and/or digital media and content is good to have.

Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year project contract.

Work location will be at various public libraries, as well as WFH, depending on project requirements.
