**What the role is**
- We are a close-knit, high-performing, and multi-disciplinary research division in the Singapore Public Service. We are expanding and recruiting a Senior Research Specialist / Research Specialist to work with a range of research initiatives in Singapore’s social service sector. We use a range of methodology such as longitudinal/panel and birth cohort studies, environmental scanning and sense making, and economic evaluation to conduct research in various areas ranging from family and child welfare, offending and rehabilitation, population studies, social service provision, quality of life, and future and current state analysis.
The Senior Research Specialist / Research Specialist will perform a crucial role in managing research-related tasks, performing analyses, and disseminating findings.
We are looking for a team player who is self-driven and takes the initiative to engage with team members and multiple stakeholders, is creative and adaptive at operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, possesses a growth mindset, and is able to quickly learn and apply.

**Key Responsibilities and Activities**
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects.
- Extract, transform and synergise data from multiple-sources.
- Develop and execute codes in analytic software to monitor and report on data quality.
- Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to address queries from stakeholders.
- Conduct detailed data analysis on data assembled from various data sources to evaluate policy and improve operational processes.
- Translate stakeholders’ needs to design; and develop tools, techniques and metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualisation
- Prepare and tailor research reports and publications for a range of stakeholders (e.g., academic experts, policy-makers, public).
- Undertake administrative tasks related to the research project.
- Organise research-related networking and dissemination activities (e.g., seminars, workshops, communities of practice).

**Skills & Knowledge**:

- Excellent in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
- Proficient in the use of one or more analytic software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, Mplus, Stata, etc). Knowledge in R and/or Python will be considered more favourably.
- Demonstrable experience in tailoring written communication to a diverse range of stakeholders in English.
- Strong project management and organisational skills. These include:

- Work planning and time management,
- Multi-tasking and working under time pressure from multiple stakeholders,
- Communication skills,
- Working both independently and as a member of a team.

**Experience**:
Experience in leading research projects is a plus.
