Amazon’s commitment to The Climate Pledge motivates us to work both inside and outside of our business operations to enact carbon emissions mitigation. Along with decarbonization efforts for our business operations, we have a robust strategy aligned with climate science for tackling climate change outside of our business, through nature-based solutions. We are looking for an experienced APJC Lead for nature-based solutions like forest restoration and sustainable agriculture. This is a new opportunity alongside our broader decarbonization initiatives in the region. The Lead will be expected to deliver on complex projects with partners inside and outside of the company, handling both day-to-day matters (constantly thinking about how to invent and simplify to improve) and longer-term, regional initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage tactical and strategic engagements with funded nature-based solutions projects in SE Asia
- Identify and define new nature-based solutions projects in SE Asia that meet Amazon’s high bar for quality
- Manage relationships, workflow, and contracts with private and nonprofit sector implementation partners and consultants
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage project execution risk and carry new project design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
- Build trust, relationships, and collaborations with internal Amazon teams across many functional areas
- Successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor and communicate progress and issues, and deliver on initiatives
- Master’s degree in relevant field such as environmental management, forestry, agriculture, economics, or business administration - Direct experience with rural development and/or ecological restoration projects - Direct experience with carbon offset project development - Fluency or competency in a language other than English - Proven ability to interface successfully with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers
