**What the role is**
- As the Deputy Director of Special Projects team in the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), you will lead a dynamic team of colleagues to: - Develop Singapore’s response to changes in the geo-economic environment - Implement policies and processes to address risks to Singapore’s economic security - Support policy makers in engagements with local and foreign stakeholders to safeguard and advance Singapore’s economic security interests - Lead engagement and communication with domestic and foreign stakeholders

**What you will be working on**
- You will have the opportunity to: - Create deep working relationships across multiple agencies and industries (both locally and internationally) - Develop a keen understanding of the intersect between policy and commercial frameworks from both a domestic and international perspective - Engage in shaping future polices which will have a long-term impact on the economic security of Singapore In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of ~5 AD/SADs. As part of your management responsibilities, you will be required to: - Provide guidance to team members in the conceptualisation, design and implementation of strategies and policies - Create effective working relationships with relevant agencies/bodies and foreign counterparts - Monitor the development and implementation of policies under your purview - Assist in appropriate administration, budgeting, monitoring, human resource reporting and liaison

**What we are looking for**
- We are looking for applicants with: - Robust analytical skills, preferably with at least 10 years of experience in drawing insights from trends in the economic, geo-political and security environments - Excellent writing and communication abilities - Proven leadership skills and management abilities - Experience in working across teams and with multiple stakeholders Experience in some of the following areas would be an advantage: - Market surveillance/monitoring - Data analytics and data visualization - Merger and Acquisitions - Business Operations - Audit - Investigations or Inspections (involving issuance of investigation reports and relevant documents such as advisories, warnings, and notices) - Risk Assessment (Economics/Security Strategy)
