DESIGNATION : Principal Backend Engineer (Team Lead)

RESPONSIBILITIES

NE Digital is currently hiring a Team Lead - Backend to join FairPrice Group.

You'll work closely with teammates to deliver cool high scale product features. You'll partner with product owners, teammates and cross functional teams around the company to identify problems and build solutions that benefit all of FairPrice/NTUC engineers. You'll work on large scale product platforms, and help your team to ship their projects with good quality.

You will design, implement and test robust technical solutions that our 24/7 store and operations can rely on. You advocate clean code that’s testable, maintainable, solves the right problem and does it well. Actually, the code and software design you can be proud of.

You will be working mostly in Golang and Java and If you have experience with them, awesome If you aren't familiar with these languages but would like to learn, come apply

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead a product engineering team of software developers
- Partner with the Business, Operations, and other Digital & Tech areas to build and implement/execute product roadmap
- Ensure a smooth product change management cycle in an agile environment
- Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable solutions
- Take ownership in reviewing existing microservices’ scalability and performance, help identify bottlenecks and resolve them
- Develop product engineering team by hiring, managing and mentoring people
- Challenge ideas and methods while collaborating with talented and highly skilled team members

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as leading engineering team to develop for high scalable products
- Fluent in different programming languages, technologies, and platforms for backend, web and/or mobile
- Drive customer first approach and consider the impact to the customer on every decision
- Vast experience on software development, and hands on
- Must be a team player, take full ownership of the work, empathetic and open minded
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Capable of working in a multicultural environment
- Lead by example by taking ownership, being proactive, collaborating and is an agent for change
- Experienced in working in an Agile setup
- Excellent communicator

**Good to have**
- Experienced in working with online grocery or e-commerce domain
- Experienced with distributed concurrency model in Golang or Java
