About SGN
The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a division in the Economic Development Board tasked to re-energise Singapore’s efforts in building a strong and extensive ecosystem of overseas Family, Friends, Fans (3F) for Singapore. SGN leads the Whole-Of-Government effort to coordinate across agencies and strengthen our collective networks whose skills, affinity and influence could help build linkages to global business and talent communities, and enhance the international mindshare of Singapore as a leading globally-connected city.
Role summary
We are looking to hire an Associate Product Manager/ Product Manager to join our team of passionate and creative technology professionals committed to using modern software development practices such as product management, design thinking and agile to achieve SGN’s business objectives. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle of a few of our digital products which is used by either internal users, WOG partners or members of the network. This is an excellent opportunity to build your competencies and experience in product management and working in a startup environment.
[What you will be working on]
Key roles and responsibilities
Oversee the entire product lifecycle of assigned digital products, from planning to execution in support of SGN strategy or digital objectives.
This includes:
- Understanding user requirements and setting the product vision;- Partnering your stakeholders to determine the product features and functions;- Creating and maintaining the product roadmap;- Managing communications between cross-functional team and senior stakeholders;- Overseeing product design and development including setting time frames and clear deliverables;- Implementing product roll out and communication plan;- Providing support of the product over its product life cycle;- Establish and ensures appropriate governance functions for the product;- Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project development;- Conduct procurement exercises such as tenders and requests for proposals to obtain solutions and services for the delivery of the product;- Review proposals or plans by external service provider to assess whether we should carry out a project in-house or out-sourced;- With support from EDB’s IT division, conduct risk assessment and mitigation and ensure compliance with government and EDB policies, risk management;- Establish standards and procedures for reporting and documentation;- Continuously benchmark team performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity;- Manages support personnel to provide ongoing run-and-maintenance of IT systems.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements- At least 3-4 years of relevant work experience.- Some knowledge of project management methodology, or familiarity with major defined PM approaches, e.g., AGILE, Scrum.- Basic excel or analytics skillset, Tableau knowledge would be a plus.- Basic programming knowledge would be a plus. Minimally, have an interest to pick up some basic knowledge as part of OJT.- Understand of UI/UX and user requirements gathering would be a plus.- Good understanding of EDB’s procurement processes and guidelines- Experience in cross-division project and stakeholder management.- A distinctive blend of business acumen, as well as strong planning and communication skills.- Singaporean.
