**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Olympiad International School is a foreign systems school offering pre-primary, primary and secondary education to students aged 5-16. We are looking for a passionate educator to fill the role of the school Academic Head.

The Academic Head reports directly to the School Director and principal. He/she has the responsibility of ensuring teaching and learning meets the standards and practices of the school’s programmes.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead the development of curriculum programs that are aligned with academic standards and best practices in the international baccalaureate primary years programme and the IGCSE.
- Provide leadership and support to teaching staff to enhance their teaching effectiveness and promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Take up teaching duties if the need arises
- Develop strategies to optimise student learning and ensure student and staff well-being
- To provide necessary supervision to the students and provide guidance to them, both in their studies and personality development.
- To assist in invigilating tests and/or examinations, either internal or external
- To regularly attend departmental and administrative meetings, and actively contribute to the development of the School brand
- To attend the trainings organised by the school
- To assist in organising educational and personality development related activities for students as laid out by the School
- To monitor and document class performance, identify areas of improvement, develop objective metrics to assess progress and ensure that the right attention is given to students requiring additional support
- Provide appropriate support to the School in attending to any other related activities that will help build the School brand and ensure a long & successful journey for OIS.
- Participate in any evaluation surveys that the School may conduct from time to time, and secure acceptable ratings.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience.
- Familiar with the international baccalaureate primary years programme and International General certificate of secondary Education syllabuses.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
