Business Intelligence Analyst, Intern

The B Capital team is looking for an outstanding intern to join our growing Business Intelligence team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data and advocates for its impact on decision-making, whether with helping us make better investments or extending impact on our existing investments.

You should be well-versed in extracting, organizing, and transforming key business data of different formats/structures, as well as building data visualizations that answer key business questions. Being able to present and communicate the results of your analysis is critical to this role. A key aspect of this role will also involve helping to drive GenAI capabilities that will transform how B Capital operates.

You should also be willing to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Partner with our engineering team, investment team, portfolio team to analyze and answer key business questions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to extend GenAI capabilities internally and integrate it into operations across various functions of the firm (this will include business intelligence/analytics)
- Pull together and prepare required datasets for analysis and visualization
- Support projects around data flow & integrity improvements

**CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Undergraduate degree in business and finance or other quantitative discipline (e.g. applied mathematics, financial economics, statistics, physics, engineering or computer science)
- Some internship experience using SQL to extract and transform data
- Some experience with both normalized and de-normalized data warehouse structures
- Experience or familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to define problem statements clearly and execute on implementation steps in an organized approach, while being able to work independently in a rapidly evolving environment
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to facilitate requirements gathering with non-technical stakeholders at all levels
