**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Position Purpose**
- Senior LNG Portfolio Optimiser plays a role in JERAGM, a single market interface of LNG Trading in JERA Group (JERAGM’s shareholder), ensuring a stable LNG supply for JERA from appropriate tank inventory management, and supporting JERAGM in pursuit of its optimisation activities.
- Expansion of optimisation activities (adding flexible LNG contracts, developing optimal Annual Delivery Programme (ADPs)
- To support JERAGM members (including traders) in understanding JERA’s LNG supply and demand operation To support JERA to improve its LNG operational capability by introducing JERAGM’s optimisation and trading standard
- To be closely involved in JERAGM’s overall LNG activities to support smooth implementation of optimisation transactions

**Main Responsibilities**
- To secure stable LNG supply for JERA by clearly understanding the JERA’s supply demand requirements through close communication with JERA's supply-demand staff and by sharing such requirements with JERAGM in a timely manner
- To evaluate the risks that JERAGM's optimisation activities may have or if it may result in any adverse impact on JERA's supply and demand balance
- To support the capture of optimisation opportunities and implementing transactions through close collaboration with traders
- To liaise daily with and communicate with JERA to ensure a stable LNG supply and inventory management for JERA
- To support JERA’s strategy-making from the market point of view
- To identify operational constraints that hinder optimisation activities, and seek countermeasures to solve the issues in collaboration with JERA
- To support JERAGM Tokyo team to establish optimal ADP cooperation with trader team (including collaboration with ship management company)

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Experience Required**
- At least 3 years’ experience in LNG operations
- Able to operate within a non-standard environment where the counterparty requires and expects considerable support and at the same time be able to gently introduce standardization and efficiency
- Must have a good level of fluency in written and spoken Japanese and English for daily dealings with JERA employees who are based in Japan
- Background in handling daily LNG cargo operations will also be an advantage
