Stall/kitchen Assistant

**Position Overview**:
The food court stall/kitchen assistant plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by preparing and serving _la mian _(Chinese hand-pulled noodles) to customers at the food court stall. The position focuses on assisting with food preparation, including pulling noodles, assembling dishes, and ensuring that the food is served promptly.The food court stall assistant will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

**Responsibilities**:
**Food Preparation and Cooking**:
1. Preparation of La Mian
- Hand-pull noodles following traditional techniques and establishment standards.
- Prepare a variety of noodle-based dishes, including soups, stir-fried options, and specialty la mian.
- Ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.

2. Ingredient Preparation
- Wash, peel, chop, mix, knead, and measure ingredients according to recipes.
- Prepare stocks, broths, and sauces essential for la mian dishes.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of prepped ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.

3. Food Assembling and Portioning
- Accurately portion and assemble dishes based on customer orders.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste and ensure profitability.

4. Cooking Assistance
- Operate kitchen equipment such as steamers, fryers, and stoves efficiently and safely.Reheat or toast pre-cooked items to order.

**Customer Service and Front-of-House Duties**:
1. Order Management
- Take customer orders in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring accuracy.
- Communicate orders promptly to kitchen staff, either verbally or using Point of Sale (POS) systems.

2. Serving
- Serve la mian dishes to customers when needed, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

3. Cashiering
- Manage cash and digital payments, ensuring transactions are accurate and secure.
- Issue refunds or handle billing inquiries when necessary.

4. Takeaway and Delivery

Package la mian and other food items for takeaway orders with care, ensuring proper presentation and compliance with hygiene standards.

**Inventory and Stock Management**:
1. Stock Processing
- Receive, inspect, and store new inventory, ensuring items are in good condition.
- Organize and rotate stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

2. Inventory Monitoring
- Conduct stock checks and update inventory records regularly.Report low stock levels and raise purchase orders to replenish supplies in a timely manner.

**Hygiene and Cleanliness**:
1. Workstation Cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness in food preparation and serving areas throughout shifts.
- Sanitize surfaces, tools, and equipment before, during, and after use.

2. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
- Report any malfunctions or damages to management promptly.

3. Dishwashing and Utensil Management
- Wash and sanitize cutlery, crockery, and kitchen tools, ensuring readiness for use.

4. Compliance with Food Safety Standards
- Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines as per HACCP or ISO22000 standards.
- Wear appropriate kitchen attire, including gloves, aprons, and hairnets, at all times.

**Requirements**:

- ** Applicable to Singaporeans only due to quota limitations
- Secondary school education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food service, food court or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Those with F&B experience will be favourably considered
- Positive working attitude and a ready smile
- Possess a valid Food Safety and Hygiene certification
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling payments.
