**What the role is**
- We are looking for a temporary locum staff to be part of the Blood Services Group (BSG), Blood Supply Management Division. The appointee for this position will be a Part-Time Locum Laboratory Officer who supports the National Blood Programme by working in the blood component processing and inventory management laboratory. He/she is expected to commit up to 21 hours per week (roughly about 2 - 3 days a week) and will be hourly rated.
Training will be provided to the selected appointees.
This position is intended to be on temporary locum contract, for up to 12 months. Successful appointee will be appointed under a contract by a recruitment agency.

**What you will be working on**
- Responsibilities:
- To augment manpower needs during peak and weekend shifts in HSA BSG’s blood supply laboratories to support the frozen blood programme
- To work in component processing and inventory lab, and to process whole blood into specialised blood components and perform auxiliary laboratory work as assigned
- To perform quarantine, disposal, labelling and release of blood products to stakeholders
- Do electronic labelling and transformation of blood products in blood bank computer system
- Perform simple blood grouping and full blood count tests on blood samples

**What we are looking for**
- Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in Biological Sciences/ Logistics and inventory management or related fields
- Able to work weekends, afternoon and/or night shifts as rostered
- Able to commit 2 - 3 working days per week, with 6 - 12 hours per day
- Good level of computer literacy
- Experience with customers handling is preferred
- Comfortable working in a laboratory based environment
