Purpose of the Job

Drive decarbonisation efforts by exploring innovative solutions, staying abreast of industry developments, and compiling business proposals to support emission reduction initiatives.
Develop and implement decarbonisation strategies aligned with the company's sustainability goals, including achieving 2030 and 2050 emission reduction targets.
Coordinate decarbonisation initiatives within AET, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable practices across the organization's operations.
Ensure fleet compliance with relevant regulations such as IMO regulations, EEXI, CII, EU ETS, and FuelEU maritime requirements.

Key Accountabilities

**Strategy Development & planning**:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive decarbonisation strategies aligned with the company's sustainability goals.
Define clear objectives to achieve long-term emission reduction targets, ensuring alignment with the business plan.
Develop models to project emissions and track progress towards the company's 2030 and 2050 emission reduction targets.
Evaluate fleet rejuvenation program from an emissions perspective and propose business plans to achieve emissions reduction targets
Initiate plans for evaluation and adoption of alternative fuels and carbon capture technologies

**Project & Operations Management**:
Lead cross-functional teams in executing decarbonisation projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Identify viable emission reduction solutions, propose business case for adoption, obtain requisite management approvals and initiate implementation
Track regulatory requirements and vessel performance to verify compliance with applicable emission regulations such as EEXI, CII.
Benchmark fleet emissions performance
Improve Technical & operational efficiencies of existing fleet
Reporting and Engagement
Prepare regular reports for management reporting, providing updates on decarbonisation initiatives, progress towards targets, and compliance with regulations.
Effectively engage with internal stakeholders on decarbonisation
Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry bodies and associations, government agencies and SMEs to explore collaborative opportunities in decarbonisation efforts.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related field. Masters' degree preferred.
Minimum [10] years of experience in environmental sustainability, carbon management, or related fields, with specific experience in the maritime industry highly desirable.
