**About this position
As a key member being part of UTC International Operation Team of the company to support and maintain the critical systems’ backend databases and storage.

Location: Singapore and Global

**Responsibilities**:

- Proactively escalate and own database related issues to resolution before they become problems;
- Maintain monitoring and alerting for databases and participate as a member of a rotating on-call schedule;
- Work directly with development and infrastructure teams to enhance the performance and observability of various database services;
- Proactively work with engineering teams to ensure that data and access standards are being followed;
- Fine tune operating system and database for performance and scalability;
- Support apps teams with SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning approach to achieve read/write efficiency;
- Assist to design, develop and implement database systems based on customer requirements with the development team;
- Administer and troubleshoot databases and including security patching, SQL tuning, capacity planning, and schema design;
- Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime;
- Automate routine maintenance, monitoring and deployment procedures;
- Database backup, restoration testing and DR drills for the critical systems.

**Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Engineering or related fields;
- Experience with modern database technology, and familiar with different types of database (MangoDB, Mysql, Postgres, DophinDB etc) and Cloud SaaS solutions;
- Familiar with ES (ELK), Reddis and OSS architecture and implementation;
- Deep understanding of both SQL and No-SQL database design and troubleshooting;
- Strong ability to create, update and maintain stored procedures;
- Hands-on experience with large scale projects and support multiple databases in the Cloud environment;
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems;
- 5 years of additional hardware engineering experience and familiar with both Linux and Windows platforms;
- Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA);
- Experience in Security requirements implementation and their impacts to overall software architecture;
- Experience with Python, APIs and Microsoft PowerBI Stack;
- Proven track record of designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining databases on a large scale;
- Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware.
