We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at Monk’s Hill Ventures as a Talent Associate. You will have a strong belief in the power of talent and people, and a keen interest in the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia.

You will work closely with our portfolio companies’ founders to understand and solve their talent needs: helping them source, engage, interview, and close on the best talent to scale their businesses. This could be via direct hiring, matching them with search firms, leveraging our referral networks, and/or via targeted playbooks and workshops. Beyond that, you will get to work with our founders on other aspects of talent: compensation, onboarding, retention, employee engagement and performance management best practices. This means a ton of exposure to multiple players within a very vibrant technology ecosystem.

It will report into our Head of Talent.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Create processes to map out and update talent needs across our portfolio of 35+ companies.
- Help with end-to-end recruiting of specific senior roles for a prioritized set of portfolio companies (~10 roles annually).
- Track and maintain a database of preferred talent-related vendors and advisors, including recruitment agencies, coaches and domain experts.
- Track referrals made to our portcos.
- Research technology enabled systems to encourage knowledge sharing within our portfolio.
- Help out as needed on community engagement events.
- From time to time, assist in MHV’s internal recruiting needs.

**We’re Looking For**:

- Minimum 4+ years of relevant work experience, including time spent in talent acquisition within a fast-paced environment (startup, search firm, VC), and an understanding of what it takes to bring in top talent into high performing startups.
- Natural relationship builder with high EQ who values making connections with a wide diversity of people from different backgrounds, cultures and work styles.
- Results focused problem solver with strong sense of ownership.
- Strong self management and project management skills, can handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Intellectually curious with a strong growth mindset.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written in English is a must).
- Proficient with G-suite, Excel, Powerpoint, and comfortable preparing slides and decks.
- Prior exposure to and understanding of the VC landscape and startup ecosystem is a big plus.
