Groupm Assistant Financial Controller

**Overview of job**
In this role, you will be the Finance Operation Lead (FC) for GroupM Singapore. He/She will be leading the overall finance operation in Singapore, handle daily finance and business issues, manage agencies associations, and manages Financeplus (Finance Shared Service). The role requires constant communicating and management of internal, external stakeholders on all finance operation aspects. In addition, you will continuously work to strategically expand, preserve or improve the company’s networking capital (NWC), procedures, standards, processes and policies while sticking to business edicts and regulatory guidelines.

**Measures of success -**
In three months:

- Be conversant with Local Opcos/Financeplus/Finance and Reporting Structure
- Support all finance operation in partnership with stakeholders.
- Oversee day-to-day finance/commercial activities of GroupM/ Agencies/Financeplus
- Good understanding of all necessary control, compliances and key stakeholders’ contracts

In six months:

- Lead the finance operation for GroupM/Agencies/Financeplus.
- Design and implement improved business/finance processes.
- Partner with Chief Financial Officer and Financeplus driving towards operational excellence.

In 12 months:

- Responsible for overall GroupM operational excellence, improvement in networking capital NWC
- Joined owner with Chief Financial Officer of overall financial health with focus on processes, cost management and improvement in operating margin.

**Responsibilities of the role**:
Act as a Finance Business/Operation Partner to GroupM and Agencies.
- As a financial operation advisor to GroupM/Agencies/Financeplus.
- Ensure strong and sustainable finance operation between GroupM/Agencies/Financeplus, leading towards excellence.
- Ensure the overall Finance operation of all processes - Billing, Collection, Payment, Intercompanies, Cash Management, Net Working Capital etc
- Owning all finance processes, procedures, guidelines and polices.
- Ensuring all operations adhere to group financial budgeting and reporting procedures and deadlines
- Ensure compliance of all finance processes adhere to clients, vendors contracts and Revenue Recognition policies and all other guidelines
- Work closely with management team to deliver year on year cost and process improvement KPIs for operational efficiency across businesses, fiancé, IT, Human Resources and Financeplus.
- Drive optimal profitability through process excellence.
- Lead, plan, execute and integrate any new finance initiatives.
- Setting up processes for tracking metrics used to measure process efficiency and aligning to overall GroupM strategy and vision.
- Being an interface between GroupM, Agencies and finance shared services
- Ad Hoc special project and new business initiatives

Governance, Compliance, Risk & Reporting
- Monitor contract, internal, SOX, ICFR compliance and commercial terms
- Ensure all contacts, client, vendors, etc, are approved, signed and filed
- Risk and corporate governance management
- Ensure Compliance and develop initiatives to maximise yields
- Working with internal and external auditors, ensuring ICFR/SOX compliance
- Ensure that all operations supports management reports submitted within deadline
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to be carried out with high accuracy and timeline
- Variances to be fully explained and analysed with action plan
- Central point of contract for all matter on finance operation

**What you will need**:

- Proactive, Process Driven, a self-starter with strong finance operation experience.
- Good problems solving skills, hands on and willing to roll up sleeves carry tasks.
- Comfortable and confident with multiple stakeholders’ management

- Good people management skill in a highly matrix environment
- Sharp, action orientated and able to sell ideas convincingly.
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability in interpreting performance trends and taking proactive action.
- Experience in Media / Advertising industry will be an added advantage.
- Experience of working in successful fast paced business is preferable.
- Comprehensive understanding of key elements of route performance (both commercial and operational)
