Senior Accountant, Controllership, Finance

Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience. - Completed CPA/CA or other professional accounting accreditation. - 9 years of relevant work experience in a financial reporting/operational accounting role. - Experience in accounting principles, including US GAAP, IFRS, and related international accounting standards. Preferred qualifications: - Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and with SQL. - Experience in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and leading and driving complex operational initiatives. - Proficiency with spreadsheet software and knowledge of accounting principles. - Ability to provide guidance to team(s) within an area to identify and mitigate risks, and escalate issues as needed to management. - Ability to manage a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high degree of attention to detail with commitment to continuous process improvement. - Excellent team player, with a drive for results, and great leadership and negotiating skills. **About the job**: Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. As a member of this team, you'll know your accounting principles and the accounting processes. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business. **Responsibilities**: - Own and account for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and processes related to Controllership for your area (e.g., month-end close, year end statutory financial processes, P&L and B/S analytics, tax compliance, financial accounting). - Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors, and regional accountants. - Participate in cross-finance readiness for product initiatives in APAC, providing jurisdictional expertise, and partner with key stakeholders for successful implementation/launch. - Develop solutions for current and potential problems, address potential issues and risks for a specific area, and focus on comprehensive and proactive planning to craft solutions. - Identify opportunities to design new or improve current methods/processes (e.g., customized process documents or deliverables, policy updates, revised guidance) to increase efficiency and/or produce higher value for users.
