**Job Description Summary**

**Responsibilities**:

- Leads Procurement and Contract negotiation of International and Domestic freight for an assigned region (ex: Intra-Asia/ Oceania for Air/ Ocean/ Rail/ Intra-modal) predominantly.
- Seasoned Air & Ocean freight professional with deep passion for this dynamic mode and industry.
- Establish strong relationship and contacts with actual P&L owners of Freight Forwarders, Airlines, Liners, Port Authorities and assocaited government organizations to enable capacity and commercial advantage for HPE.
- Responsible for optimizing cost of assigned region & mode and manage significant financial spend budget for assigned region.
- Prepare and manage Capacity Plans: short term (Emergency)and long term capacity plans.
- Share deep market intelligence by staying close to market drivers, leverage industry forums and platforms to share insights on market developments first hand.
- Establish strong relationship and contacts with Freight Forwarders, Airlines, Liners, Port Authorities and associated government organizations to enable capacity and commercial advantage for HPE.
- Benchmark HPE with market: Rates, Capacity, Innovative Procurement approaches, Solutions, Technology adaptation, Sustainability solutions
- Act as first escalation point and resolve air procurement issues with carriers.
- Support Internal Business Units/ Finance/ Operations/ Sales/ etc stakeholders on Freight pricing, capacity and market
- Creates multi-year strategies for logistics network optimization across multiple stakeholders.
- Flexible to adapt with evolving needs of the organization on job roles & responsibilities - for changes in assigned mode, region.
- Collaborates with peers as a team-player in multi-modal, cross-region synergies is a critical requirement of this job.

**Education and Experience Required**:

- First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain or related function.
- Proven performer in 3PL industry or Logistics Procurement function.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Extensive know-how of developing surface/ road transportation/ last-mile Or Parcel Or Warehousing modes.
- Deep knowledge of logistics market place and commercial pricing of freight industry.
- Air Cargo IATA certification or similar credentials is desirable.
- Advanced ability to partner with logistics suppliers in forward-thinking strategic development and relationship building.
- Adept at negotiation of logistics commercials and timely management of contractual agreements
- Advanced analytical and data modelling skills.
- Ability to multi-task and navigate between strategic & hands-on work effectively.
- Ability to close complex deals in a timely fashion.
