**Overview**:
The Printing Operator is responsible for safety, quality, housekeeping, 5S, equipment performance, training of assistants, and training of other operators. Follow the schedule, plans, and assigns work to assistants, follows and enforces policy and procedures, drives root cause analysis activities, recommends improvements in production methods, and participates in continuous improvement team activities.

**Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Set-up and operate gravure presses in an efficient, safe, and quality conscious manner
- Read and interpret job jackets to determine the type of work to be done and quantities/materials needed
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to ensure proper operation
- Proof completed work
- Remove printed material or finished products from machines and stack, wrap or pack product
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance
- Trouble shoot technical problems and equipment when needed
- Learn inventory system
- Maintain excellent quality standards
- Maintain daily housekeeping using 5S standards
- Safety focus for work free of safety incidents
- Follows all PPE standards

**Job knowledge, skills and abilities**
- Good verbal and inter-personal communication skills
- Gravure printing experience desired
- High mechanical aptitude desired
- Ability to read work tickets and interpret written information
- Ability to do basic math and measurements
- Basic computer skills
- Must be pro-active and detail oriented to catch problems or inconsistencies and bring them to management’s attention
- Be careful and respectful of high dollar press tooling
- Good organization skills

**Physical demands**:

- Lifting, standing, crouching, stair climbing with a load and associated repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift 75lbs

**Terms and conditions**:

- Willing to work overtime
- Willing to do shift work
- Willing to take up ad-hoc duties assign by the company
