Research Scientist

Multimodal Dialog and Interactions Team in Intelligent Systems Research Lab, Intel Labs focuses on inter-disciplinary research spanning Conversational AI and Cognitive Computing to create Human/AI collaborative systems that can amplify human potential and create sustainable and transparent Conversational AI solutions. We utilize multi-modal signals (e.g. vision, audio, speech, language) and human in the loop methods to create Conversational AI systems and solutions for situated understanding, dialog and interactions. We conduct fundamental and applied research in the context of vertical domains including manufacturing, education, enterprise, and assistive computing.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Qualifications:
1+ year experience in below areas:

- Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing, i.e. Spoken Dialog Systems, Language Models, Multimodal Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Interpretable Machine Learning
- Novel paradigms beyond supervised learning, such as weakly supervised multimodal learning, Human in the loop approach, Learning by demonstration, and unsupervised methods
- AI frameworks (e.g. Pytorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe)
- Python and/or C++ languages, and Linux OS

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in deploying machine learning systems at scale
- Experience in Deep Learning based techniques at the intersection of Speech, Vision and Dialog
- Knowledge of Speech Understanding techniques such as speaker identification, diarization, speech recognition, and synthesis

Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques such as Few Shot Learning, Meta Learning, Adversarial Learning, Probabilistic methods, Model Adaptation and Personalization methods
Knowledge of NLP techniques such as natural language understanding, dialog management and natural language generation
Knowledge of Computer Vision techniques such as object recognition, action recognition, segmentation and tracking
Knowledge of black-box Model Interpretability techniques for explaining model predictions
Familiarity with Intel OpenVino and RealSense technologies

**Work Model for this Role**

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
