Role Summary

Proactively support the business units, the Group ALM lead, supervisor, in respect of driving derivatives overlay and LDI strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

- Assist the supervisor in analyzing and proposing to Group Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Business Units to improve the design and implementation of the liability hedging programs and investigate use of derivatives / LDI strategies in improving the risk-adjusted returns.
- Support the supervisor to work closely with the fund manager to integrate these derivatives and LDI strategies in the portfolio management process.
- Design, build and maintain data and technology infrastructure to enable automated and efficient investigation of investment strategies, visualisation of the impact of the investment solutions on the insurance portfolio. Work closely with the Group ALM - SAA team, in developing tools for monitoring and assessing derivative markets.
- Support supervisor and work with fund managers and LBUs on driving ISDA, CSA and documentation negotiation, including setting up processes on management and controls of collateral usage, posting and drive the set-up of infrastructure support needed to ensure smooth operation of the derivatives overlay and LDI (if applicable) strategies.

Job Requirements:

- Show deep understanding of derivative pricing models and nuances. Knowledge of downstream effects and economic impact of the different types of derivatives would be advantageous.
- Demonstrate ability to learn trade communication, settlements, term sheets, index methodologies and other derivative operational issues. Knowledge in this area would be advantageous.
- Show ability to disaggregate complex trading strategies and model them to understand how they work in different market outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build effective relationships and liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the Group.
- Able to work independently with a proactive mindset in challenging existing process.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support business units and fund manager.
- Ability to work under pressure, flexibly deal with workloads, priorities and deadlines.
- Strong quantitative and analytics skills, including the ability to understand concepts and assess situations in a timely manner.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy of analysis.
- Team player who resolves problems through a consultative, analytical approach.
