Engineering Manager, Mechanical

**Job Summary**

LAI games is a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to creating immersive and entertaining arcade experiences.

We are looking for a highly competent engineering manager with a background in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, with a sense of vision, teamwork, and responsibility, to manage our mechanical team in the design and engineering of our cutting-edge arcade games.

You'll be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design on larger projects, working collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design.

You will guide the team of mechanical engineers, develop individual team members by coaching and mentoring and introduce working methods to increase the effectiveness of our product creation process.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Leadership**:

- Communicate with key stakeholders to determine project goals and objectives and report on outcomes.
- Oversee engineering projects and teams. Help strategize, design, and manage projects at every stage, ensuring that the projects are completed efficiently, correctly, and on schedule.
- Lead, coach & mentor the team. Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and identify training needs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members. Participate in hiring new team members.
- Collaborate with your engineers in teams that include game designers, artists, software developers and electronic engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.

**Mechanical **Sys**t**e**m** **Design**:

- Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems for our games, considering factors such as availability, durability, makeability, and cost.
- Ensure the integration of mechanical components with electronic, firmware and game-software for a complete gaming experience.

**Qua**l**i**t**y** Assurance**:

- Implement design reviews, FMEA analysis and perform design verification and validation.
- Collaborate with quality assurance to validate our design and ensure the overall quality and reliability of our arcade games can be guaranteed.

**Continuous improve**men**t**:

- Improve the effectiveness of our engineering group by identifying opportunities for process improvement, evaluate existing working methods, and introduce best practices.
- Work with the sustaining engineering manager to improve the performance of our games in the field and implement lessons learnt in future projects.

**Docu**men**t**ation**:

- Create and maintain records for mechanical system architecture, design decisions, and the verification and validation of the designs.
- Provide clear and concise documentation to reproduce and maintain our products, following the rules of our PLM system.

**Innovation and Research**:

- Initiate try-outs and testing,
- Contribute to the innovation of gaming products by introducing new solutions.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience in engineering and engineering management, in a business to business industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical system design and integration, preferably in the context of arcade games.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, understand concepts like diversity, equity, and inclusion when creating teams and supporting individual team members in the workplace.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Passionate about exploring new technologies and implementing them in products.

**Qualifications/Education**

Master's degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, achieved either by education or experience.
