**The Opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced P&C actuary to support the Head of Actuarial and P&C Business Performance Management, APAC, in carrying out the actuarial responsibilities, covering all P&C businesses for Zurich Insurance within the APAC region.

While this is a P&C actuarial role, the role will work closely with the P&C PPM team in driving insight and business performance, and also have opportunities to engage in Life topics and projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the Head of Actuarial and P&C Business Performance Management, APAC in carrying out the actuarial responsibilities, covering all P&C business within the Region. This will include, but not be limited to:

- Support in reviewing and understanding the reserve recommendations produced across the regional P&C businesses.
- Understanding the reserve strength of the overall APAC portfolio
- Production of the APAC Reserve Committee materials
- Driving improvements in governance, efficiency, and insight generation from the reserving processes across the Region
- Oversight of the loss ratio planning process, including production of the APAC Regional Actuarial Memo
- Assume the position of Chief Reserving Actuary for the Indonesia P&C business on an interim basis. This will involve:

- Ownership of the reserving calculations and related reporting for the Indonesia business.
- Remote management oversight and development of a team of actuaries and actuarial trainees based in Indonesia performing the reserving work, including travel to Indonesia on occasion as appropriate.
- Embedding of best practice reserving processes
- Bringing the insight from the actuarial reserving to life within the Indonesia Business unit, with regular engagement with the Indonesia CFO, CUO and CCO.
- Participate in regional actuarial projects and support APAC business units with actuarial responsibilities as required

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- A qualified P&C Actuary with approximately 10 years of experience, a significant portion of which spent in P&C Reserving.
- Strong communicator
- Ability to influence other senior actuaries to deliver what we need.
- Strong technical capability to understand and challenge the work produced by the local Chief Reserving Actuaries
- A curious self-starter willing to get hands dirty and support BUs directly as necessary.
