The Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) was established at Duke-NUS in 2014 with the mission of establishing regional platforms and networks to grow competencies, build capacity and promote thought leadership in regulatory science and health policy in the Asia Pacific, with a focus on South-East Asia. CoRE offers a strong education portfolio to strengthen capacity and capability in health product regulation spanning pharmaceutical and medical devices among industry and regulators. CoRE promotes thought leadership and policy innovation in the area of health products regulation, regulatory systems strengthening.
Building on our strength and initial focus on health products regulation and regulatory system strengthening, CoRE has expanded into exploring issues related to global health, health policies and health system strengthening, especially where regulation can play an enabling role.
CoRE is recruiting a Scientific Officer/Scientific Manager to lead and/or contribute to projects for CoRE’s think tank and health policy innovation initiatives. Current work streams include regulatory and health systems strengthening, patient engagement, digital health, vaccines & pandemic preparedness, advanced therapeutics, clinical trials and medical devices.
Applied Research
- Analyse and interpret a mix of data available including qualitative interviews, quantitative data, surveys, and clinical data where needed.
- Lead and/or assist in domain knowledge management and sharing.
- Produce high quality, research-based outputs including reports, whitepapers, policy briefs, presentations or website/social media posts.
- Contribute to the intellectual direction of the think tank programme of CoRE by identifying topical, policy-relevant domain areas.
Project Management Coordination
- Lead and/or assist in the management, planning and development of assigned domain areas.
- Assist in planning and execution of activities such as roundtables, seminars/webinars and conferences.
- Manage and monitor project timelines and progress, providing consistent updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Pharmacy or Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences; a Master’s Degree would be advantageous.
- Have experience in project management, planning and coordination and able to lead projects with mínimal supervision with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight timelines.
- Prior experience in research and grant writing would be advantageous.
- Able to handle ambiguity well, remain flexible in a quick changing environment and agile to quickly take on new topics and move between focus areas.
- Possess excellent writing and presentation skills with professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Exhibit good interpersonal skills, comfortable working both independently and as well as in a team.
- Able to demonstrate intellectual flexibility and socio-political sensitivity.
- Have computer literacy and competence in MS Office suite of programmes.
