The Principal Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for working with a workstream of distribution and transport SMEs, and supply chain leads to analyze, report, and implement lean, Six Sigma, MOS (Medtronic Operating System), and any automation technologies in the regional Deliver organization.

This individual will additionally play a key role in bringing DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) principals and challenge status quo thinking to ensure facilities, systems and processes to meet KPIs, maximize new automation capabilities, and implement best-in-class operational practices. This role will partner across multiple functions, including IT, Finance, Regional Supply Chain, QARA, and will contribute to influencing key decision makers across Medtronic.

**A Day In The Life
- Principal Operational Excellence Specialist
**This role is based in APAC and will have a dotted line to the Global OpEx team, and dotted line to the GRC Deliver Lead.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Develops and leads the strategic planning of new distribution center design, including automation systems, optimized flow, and adoption of best-in-class processes.
- Leads regular reviews of all internal processes and distribution sites, to develop and implement a culture of continuous improvement. This could include utilizing Gemba walks, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, MOS tools and analysis to drive the adoption of best-in-class processes, technologies, and practices.
- Work with Global OpEx, APAC and GRC Deliver Leads in prioritizing focus areas and projects based on the impact to Medtronic and our customers.
- Help drive regional Deliver teams on data-focused analysis when reviewing KPIs, and/or root causes to failures to ensure visibility and transparency on solutioning outcomes.
- Works closely with OpEx teams in to ensure best-in-class processes and practices are in place for the movement of goods between captive manufacturing sites and DC sites as part of our end-to-end network.
- Partners closely with the Supply Planning team to implement all supply chain impacts including inventory, planning, and process changes
- Leads financial and operational efficiency analysis for valuation of trade-off decisions for any elements of transformation included in the design and transition to the new distribution centers.
- Participate in discussions with third-party partners, SAP, IT, automation providers, and other functions to assess capabilities and determine optimal solutions

**Must Have**:

- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

**Your Profile**:

- Working experience in APAC and GRC markets and cultures
- Effective and seasoned working in a matrix organization and multi-level stakeholder management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and present professionally in English, both written and verbal, to wide variety of audiences
- Strong facilitation and project management skills
- Change Management Agent and experience in complex program management, process & system development
- Possess Six Sigma black belt or equivalent
- Qualified in Lean and 5S processes
- Skilled in inspiring, influencing and partnering with others, both inside and outside Supply Chain.
- Knowledge of SAP Deliver systems e.g. IM/WM, GFMS reporting
- Worked with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools.
