Job Description **About the Role** The Commerce Solutions team ensures the Revenue organization is armed with the solutions to bring Shopify to the world. Solutions are a combination of software (First Party & Third party), and services, that solve a problem for a specific segment of merchants. Portfolio Management Lead will uncover patterns of problems and opportunities that face our current and prospective merchants. They evaluate the existing portfolio of products/solutions, determine how identified opportunities can be accomplished on Shopify today, and define the solution direction. This role includes building and leading a global team of portfolio managers, defining strategic direction, understanding commercial investments & opportunity, and translating market context into product advocacy across the Shopify Product organization. **Responsibilities**: - Help answer questions like: - What are the biggest blocker’s impeding merchants’ growth? - What is our product market fit in the APAC region, and what solutions should we invest in to improve fit? - What is our product position & strategy to win in APAC? - Analyze the current portfolio of products and solutions to determine key gaps that require solution development - Define the roadmap for solution development, and work with the appropriate stakeholders (across Commercial and Product) to build solutions, and bring them to market using our ecosystem. - Establish systems to uncover patterns of problems and opportunities that face our current and prospective merchants, and the business impact of solving them. - Liaise with senior stakeholders across the commercial organization, and gain alignment from Managing Directors (MDs). - Establish a feedback loop to ensure Merchant Facing teams are aware of the timeline and outcome of solution development. - Establish relationships and advocate to senior leads in the product management organization to impact product/solution roadmap development. - Lead, coach and grow other portfolio managers on the team Qualifications - At least 5 years of experience working at high-tech or SaaS software companies - ** Product-minded**: You care about the "Why" - Why build this feature? While data informs your decisions, you never lose sight of the needs, motivations, and behaviours of our merchants. - ** Excellent interpersonal skills**:You have experience building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders in commercial and technical roles, and leading through influence. - ** Strong business acumen**:You have the ability to connect the dots between merchant opportunities and business objectives to define the impact of investing in different opportunities. - ** Strong opportunity positioning skills**:You have the ability to take ambiguous situations, identify the most promising opportunities, and guide your team towards a plan of action - ** Strong technical solutioning skills**:You have the ability to develop business software solutions for complex business challenges. - ** Strong Communicator**:You have the ability to tell compelling, persuasive, data-driven stories and are effective in partnering closely with colleagues from multiple disciplines across offices, and time zones. - ** Leadership**:You have demonstrated hiring, building and growing teams globally to achieve outcomes.
