Provide weight input for all phases of Projects from concept development, tender, bids, FEEDs, construction, commissioning, execution, modification to completion
- Interface and interact with all project disciplines to ensure a correct estimation of the weights of all equipment and bulk such as steel, piping etc. on the installation
- Update shipweight weight database with experience data, enabling accurate prediction of weights for modules, skids and other equipment, structures etc.
- Maintain a register of all weights, including predicted weights based on experience from benchmark projects and previous experience, for accurate estimation of weights for use in stability assessments, lifting studies, and structural and naval design for e.g. support systems, module dimensioning
- Responsible for the Master Equipment List; ensuring the quality of the register throughout the project, and following up other disciplines and departments of the project to ensure correct and timely input o Ensure, together with estimation, that a clear and logical technical coding system exists
- Responsible for Area Code List & Area Code drawing as per project technical coding
- Develop and contribute with input to philosophies and design specifications for weight estimation, control and design purposes
- Prepare weight control input forms for accurate input of weights from subcontractors
- Actively contribute to Naval Architecture discipline activities and provide input to develop and maintain company engineering standards and best practices within the field
- Coordinate, plan and schedule Naval Architecture activities to ensure a logical sequence and timely preparation, review and revision of all related documents, as well as check and/or approve deliverables from the discipline, and assure schedule and quality are attained
- Actively drive the development of relevant RFQ’s for module yards, integration yards, newbuild shipyards and equipment packages and prepare technical bid evaluations (input)
- Follow-up design development, construction and testing activities such as weighing operations and inclining experiment
- Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Proactively support and cooperate with all engineering disciplines, engineering contractors and yards, to achieve optimal design results, including relevant input and comments to other discipline deliveries
- Work closely with and actively support Supply Chain, Estimation, Planning and other project teams
- Review and approve deliverables from suppliers and contractors
- Provide technical clarifications towards clients, sub suppliers, class and yard
- Liaise with class, regulator and client for the submission of documents and close out of comments
- Support Technical Maintenance & Support team, Operation Managers and offshore Units as and when required, including visiting Units in operation as needed for technical support and troubleshooting
