**Job Summary**:
The Lorry Attendant is responsible for assisting the lorry driver in the loading, unloading, and delivery of goods. The attendant ensures that goods are handled safely, assists with navigation, and performs routine checks and maintenance of the vehicle.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Loading and Unloading**:Assist in loading goods onto the lorry, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
Secure loads with ropes, straps, or other devices to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Unload goods at delivery points, ensuring correct items are delivered and received.
- **Delivery Assistance**:Assist the driver in navigating routes, using maps or GPS devices.
Communicate with customers during deliveries, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Handle delivery documentation, including delivery notes and customer signatures.
- **Vehicle Maintenance**:Conduct routine checks on the lorry, including tire pressure, oil levels, and other basic maintenance tasks.
Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the driver or supervisor promptly.
- **Safety and Compliance**:Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during loading, unloading, and transit.
Assist in ensuring the lorry is compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- **Other Duties**:Assist in keeping the lorry clean and tidy.
Support the driver in any other tasks as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- **Experience**:Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- **Skills**:Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
Good communication skills.
Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- **Licenses/Certifications**:Valid driver's license may be required, depending on the employer's needs.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Requires significant physical effort, including lifting, bending, and carrying heavy items.
- May involve long hours and irregular shifts, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
