NextWave are working with a leading global investor who are looking to establish a large offshore wind presence in Asia. As a result of this growth, they are looking to hire a Regional Investment Director to lead the origination and execution of offshore wind investments in the APAC region..

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting market and competition analysis and establishing strategy for the deployment of capital in offshore wind investments in Asia.
- Managing the origination and execution of Offshore Wind investments (acquisitions, mergers, project finance and divestitures) in projects, joint ventures and development platforms, leading a small internal team, and external advisors.
- Overseeing the production of financial models for offshore wind projects/assets.
- Networking and managing relationships with co-investors across Asia - investments may range from minority stakes alongside local investors to 100% owned deals.
- Managing working relationships with external advisors (developers, lawyers, technical advisors, debt providers, EPC contractors, etc)
- Attracting third party debt funding and leading negotiation of key economic aspects of investments with counterparties (lending banks, EPC, developers etc.).
- Overseeing the operations of development platforms acquired or established by the business.
- Acting as Board Member or Director of investee companies, monitoring and reviewing of the investments in the portfolio
- Working closely with the global leadership team to help set out plans for the Asia Pacific development teams
- Liaise with necessary Advisors appointed in target markets to stay on top of pipeline and government policy
- Travelling throughout the region growing the company's brand and reputation in offshore wind
- Consistently evaluating new investment opportunities, producing deal screening reports, considering returns in the context of identified risks, how these can be managed and other mitigating factors
- Preparing investment papers detailing new opportunities to the Investment Committee
- Assisting with the preparation of transaction contracts
- reviewing and assisting negotiations of contractual terms

**Requirements**:

- 12+ years' experience investing in energy projects in the APAC region
- Corporate finance transaction experience (from origination to execution) in the energy sector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience successfully leading an offshore wind transaction from end-to-end
- Extensive knowledge of the offshore wind market in APAC
- Strong relationships with regional and local stakeholders in the relevant countries
- Previous experience executing platform strategies in the region
- Willingness for extensive regional travel
