**Principal Climate Modeller - Singapore**
Our climate work is rapidly growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Climate Modeller.
**Main duties and responsibilities will include**:
- Leading and supporting the development, validation, and deployment of climate-related models as part of complex, multi-disciplinary risk and opportunity assessment projects.
- Using climate model outputs to develop modelling tools comprising complex spatial and financial datasets.
- Analysing and reporting model outputs and their implications upon business and strategy.
- Managing technical aspects of projects to meet both commercial and technical requirements and working with the project team to deliver innovative adaptation solutions.
- Providing technical guidance and supporting fellow teammates in the development of models and the interpretation and analysis of model outputs.
- Writing reports, conducting research and delivering stakeholder communication and engagement activities.
- Supporting business development and the preparation of tenders.
**Essential qualification/experience**:
- A university degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or other related field.
- Experience in the use of climate or catastrophe models incl. third-party tools such as Entelligent, ISS ESG, RMS, Climate Credit Analytics and Climanomics etc.
- Experience in the use of R and Phython.
- Experience in the delivery of climate change risk and opportunity assessments.
- Ability to communicate scientific, statistical, mathematical, and financial concepts to non
- technical audiences in clear, simple and accessible language.
- Knowledge of databases such as SQL or MS Access, VBA, R and GIS software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, communicate and address complex issues.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
**Desirable experience**:
- Insurance market experience and understanding of policy structures for catastrophe risks.
- Good understanding of the climate change related regulatory landscape such as TCFD, ISSB and SBTi.
- Familiarity with existing third-party climate, natural hazards and catastrophe modelling tools.
