Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary project on urban heat island (UHI) mitigation through greenery-based solutions. Supported by NParks, this project aims to evaluate the cooling effects of urban greenery and develop a modelling platform to assess and optimize these benefits in Singapore. Key Responsibilities Conduct multi-scale, multi-physics numerical simulations, including thermal environment, urban greenery, and airflow at city, district, and neighborhood scales. Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at conferences. Organize and assist with technical workshops, networking events, and conferences locally and internationally. Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, Atmospheric Sciences, Urban Climate, Architecture Engineering, Building Science, or related fields, with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Knowledgeable in urban climate modelling. Experience with environmental simulation tools such as UrbanMicroclimateFoam, OpenFOAM, WRF/PALM, or similar. Highly motivated, able to work independently, with good time management and planning skills.
