Cloud Database Specialist

The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals
- Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements
- Recommend product customization for system integration
- Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes
- Advise or mentor junior team members
- Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services

**Qualifications**:

- 8-12 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
- Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
- Project Management experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
- Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Proven track record of operational process change and improvement

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred

Cloud database specialist is for DBaaS (Database as a Service) cloud platform. Primarily responsible for DBaaS operations on OraaS (Oracle as a Service), MaaS (MongoDB as a Service), MSaaS (MS-SQL as a Service).

Strong experience of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MS-SQL databases.

10 + years of hands-on experience with Oracle, MongoDB, MS-SQL across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of Oracle RAC including ASM, Dataguard, SQLT, Grid infrastructure, AWR/ASH, AHF, OMS, OEM and Plugin DB

8+ years of experience in administration of OEM, MongoDB Ops Mgr setup, Monitoring, Backup and Automation.

10+ years production Oracle Database Administration experience with RAC, ASM and RMAN.

Strong Knowledge and experience in Cloud operations, As a Service architectures,
Experience with ACTIFIO is an added advantage
Expertise in MongoDB installation, deployment and upgrade procedures including public clouds.
Expertise in MongoDB database performance tuning and Query optimization.
Exposure to infrastructure and platform capabilities - container, middleware, messaging, routing components
Expertise in MongoDB HA and Scalable Architecture.
Comfortable in using MongoDB tools like, mongostat, mongotop, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongodump, mongorestore etc. Database Security management and User Management.
5+ years of experience in installing, configuring and managing Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
Expertise in Windows PowerShell commands and scripting.
Exposure to Windows Server CORE.
Experience in creating and managing Windows Server Failover Clusters.
Skilled in troubleshooting BSOD and performing Crash dump analysis
Experience on VMware technologies like ESXi, vSphere systems administration and support, including vMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Update Manager and Site Recovery Manager
Adequate exposure to any public cloud based deployments (IaaS and PaaS), AWS/GCP/Azure
Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and 2019 environments database administration in Windows and virtual environments
Experienced in implementation of HA options like Log Shipping, Mirroring and Replication and Clustering options for SQL Server
Expert in writing T-SQL, including complex stored procedures, functions, views and triggers
Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization for Oracle/MSSQL/MongoDB
Having Experience in SQL AlwaysON
Having Experience in SQL server service pack and security patches installation.
Having Experience in Oracle/MongoDB/SQL migration and purgation.
Good Experience in scheduling SQL Server Agent Jobs, Alerts and automating scripts.
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Database mirroring, Replication.
Having knowledge of Profiler, DTS, SSIS packages and experience in SSAS, SSRS
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
