Canine Programme Instructor

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The purpose of this job is to handle the day-to-day operations of canine programme development and delivery for a range of beneficiaries (i.e. Children, youth, families, elderlies, and persons with disabilities) at EQUAL.
As Canine Programme Instructor, you are responsible to design, plan and lead suitable programmes for beneficiaries based on therapeutic objectives in a group setting. He/ she is to conduct outreach to the community and to organise events and activities for EQUAL’s partners or beneficiaries through the coordination with schools, partners and stakeholders. It is also important for this role to liaise with Animal Welfare Groups (AWGs), shelters, fosterers and adopters to recruit suitable dogs to be used in ensuring the smooth facilitation of the canine programmes.
This role may require to work on the weekends and public holidays if there are programmes or events. Reporting to the Canine Programme Manager, he/ she will work closely with the Programmes & Services team members. He/ she is to support other ad-hoc activities or projects and to assist in other activities/ works as instructed by the Canine Programme Manager or Head of Programmes & Services.
**REQUIREMENTS**
**Preferred Experience**
- **Educational and professional background in social work, counselling or psychology will be an advantage.**
- **Fresh graduates are welcomed.**
- **Familiarity with evidence-based framework.**
- **Facilitation skills.**
- **Computer proficiency.**

- A strong team-player who is also able to work independently
- Able to confidently deliver programmes to beneficiaries
- Able to engage stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs
**Other Attributes**
- Love for animals, particularly for dogs
- Empathetic, innovative and client-centric
- Motivated and self-driven
- Experience in group facilitation and working with people with special needs or disabilities is preferred
- Practical experience handling / owning dogs or other animals
- Understanding of the animal welfare groups, foster ecosystems and shelters in Singapore
