The German European School Singapore (GESS) is looking for an experienced Primary School EAL Teacher for Grades 3-5, commencing 1 August 2025.

**In your teaching commitment at GESS, you will need to take on the following responsibilities where you will be expected to**:

- Develop a strong relationship with all parents and students
- Be a role model who mentors and guides students to ensure they meet their full potential
- Actively review student assessment data, including academic, behavioral and social/emotional, to set learning goals, develop student agency and put in place interventions to ensure successful learning of each individual

**Responsibilities**:
- Teach a composite class of Grade 3, 4, and 5 intensive EAL learners, focusing on foundational English skills such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure.
- Develop and deliver balanced lessons that integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Assess and monitor student progress using WIDA.
- Regularly communicate with parents to update them on their child’s language development and progress.
- Collaborate regularly with the EAL team, Student Services, and leadership to support students effectively.
- Maintain and update curriculum documentation in line with school standards.

**Experience and Qualifications**:
- A recognized teaching qualification (minimum B.Ed or PGCE equivalent) and TESOL/EAL training (e.g., CELTA, TEFL, or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience with children aged 8-11, preferably in international or multilingual settings.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; additional language knowledge is advantageous.
- Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a caring attitude towards student development.
- Homeroom teaching experience is an advantage.

- Formative Assessment: The teacher can effectively use differentiated assessment tools and strategies and understands how to make accommodations for individual students that drive learning forward.
