WWF’s vision is a future where all palm oil is produced without causing deforestation, the conversion of natural ecosystems, environmental degradation or the harming wildlife. It should also be produced in a manner which treats workers fairly, respects the rights of local communities and indigenous people, and incentivises and empowers producers including smallholder farmers with the means to adopt more responsible production practices as a part of sustainable livelihoods. Where palm oil is produced, the wellbeing of people, wildlife, and habitats should be protected and enhanced at a landscape level, and negative impacts should be mitigated and not displaced elsewhere.

WWF’s **goals** for palm oil are to:

- ** Protect**: Palm oil driven deforestation and natural habitat conversion are halted across all production landscapes.
- ** Produce**: Sustainable palm oil production is incentivised and no longer contributes to climate change and ecosystem degradation. The industry provides sustainable livelihoods, reduces poverty, and respects human rights.
- ** Restore**: Landscapes are restored and enhance biodiversity conservation through the restoration of degraded ecosystems - including forests, peatlands, and existing plantations - and the reconnection of fragmented habitats and species populations by establishing wildlife corridors.

**I. Major Functions**:
Working closely with the Global Palm Oil team, the incumbent will help to implement and support projects and activities to accelerate demand for more sustainable and responsibly produced palm oil, with a focus on Asia. This includes working with WWF offices around the world and contributing to interventions that promote sustainable production, trade and consumption of palm oil.

**II. Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Technical Support (Research and Data collection/analysis)**
- Conduct in-depth research on sustainable palm oil related topics including fact-checking and reviewing the palm oil sustainability policies and commitments of major traders and buyers, and progress made in implementing these.
- Generate and analyse data and descriptive statistics in relation to work relevant to global palm oil strategy and project activities
- Support the delivery and project management of WWF’s Palm Oil Buyers Scorecard
- Coordinate the compilation of reports and analysis of KPIs for all GPO programming, under the guidance of the Manager, Programmes & Operations

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Support the implementation of the business case and engagement strategy for major buyers and traders
- Support engagement with priority major buyers and traders, and engagement with selected companies under the guidance of the Senior Engagement Manager and the Technical Manager
- Coordinate with WWF National Offices (NO) and other stakeholders to support engagement activities and the delivery of the global palm oil strategy
- Support in preparing reports and organising events, webinars and outreach activities for launching internal research and reports for key stakeholders.
- Liaise with designers and vendors for publication of reports and other research pieces.
- Liaise with legal and business review teams for finalising contracts with service providers and donors.

**Administration**
- Attend meetings and record, circulate and store accurate minutes
- Support the development of project reports, position papers, presentations and other documents.
- Coordinate external engagements to promote WWF’s position on sustainable palm oil (including speaking engagements, workshops and consultative committees)
- Coordinate the team’s administrative & finance processes (budget forecast, invoices, travel requests, calendar/room bookings, etc)
- Undertake other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
