**Job Overview**:
The Piping Material Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the selection, specification, and procurement of piping materials for FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects in the oil and gas industry. The role includes ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements, as well as supporting the design, procurement, and installation phases of piping systems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Material Selection**:Identify and select appropriate piping materials based on project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements for FPSO systems.
Ensure compatibility of materials with process fluids, temperatures, and pressures encountered in oil and gas environments.
- **Technical Specifications**:Develop and maintain piping material specifications, including MTOs (Material Take-Offs), datasheets, and valve specifications.
Ensure all materials comply with relevant industry codes such as ASME, API, ASTM, and company standards.
- **Vendor Management & Procurement**:Assist procurement teams by evaluating and approving material suppliers and vendors.
Review technical documentation from suppliers, including manufacturing processes and certifications, to ensure materials meet project standards.
- **Design & Engineering Support**:Collaborate with piping designers and stress engineers to ensure materials are fit for purpose and can withstand operational stresses.
Provide input during detailed engineering to ensure proper material handling, storage, and installation methods.
- **QA/QC & Inspection**:Assist in the inspection and quality control of piping materials, ensuring that they meet the required specifications.
Ensure non-conformance issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- **Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance**:Ensure all selected materials contribute to the safety and integrity of the FPSO.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:Prepare and maintain technical reports, material lists, and project documentation.
Provide regular updates to the Lead Piping Engineer and project management on material status and procurement timelines.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**:Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Piping Material Engineer in the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in FPSO projects.
- **Technical Skills**:Extensive knowledge of piping material standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.) and industry codes.
Proficiency in material selection, corrosion prevention, and understanding of fluid properties in offshore environments.
Familiarity with procurement processes, material requisitions, and supplier/vendor evaluations.
- **Soft Skills**:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.

**Certifications**:

- Certifications related to piping engineering and materials, such as NACE, API, or ASME certifications, are preferred.

**Work Environment**:

- Willingness to work in both office and offshore environments as needed.
- Ability to travel to vendor and project sites when required.
